Programme
1.
Assistance for Technical Education:
We are living in the age of technology. Knowledge in technology holds the
key for development. Many a bright students of Odisha are deprived of technical
education and training due to poor financial condition. Hence, this programme
has been undertaken by the Trust to provide financial assistance to poor and
meritorious students pursuing diploma and degree courses in Engineering and
Medicine in premier Govt. Institutions.
In the
endeavor, we are taking the help of International NGOs Foundation For
Excellence, North South Foundation, Learning for a Better World and Sustainable
Economic Development Society, Indian Companies like Orissa Stevedores Limited,
Rain Carbon Limited , Sri Bajrang Power Ispat Limited, MGM Minerals and some
individual donors.
2.
Assistance for Humanities Studies:
It was observed that during last two decades, meritorious students were
opting for technical education because of employment potential .As a result the
humanities studies were not getting enough attention. It was apprehended that
there would be lop sided development in the society in the days to come because
the society also needs the services of good Historians, Economists, Bankers,
Lawyers, and Thinkers etc. Besides it is an acknowledged fact that the social
developments so far have been due to the original thoughts provided by the
social philosophers and thinkers. Hence, we have developed a programme in the
name and style of Complementary Education Initiative Programmme to encourage
poor meritorious students to study humanity subjects by providing financial
assistance and coaching for writing competitive examinations.
Under the said programme the Trust selects eligible students from premier
Govt. Colleges namely; B.J.B. Autonomous College, R.D. Women’s College,
Ravenshaw University and S.B. Women’s College. In this endeavor we are
helped by International NGOs like North South Foundation and Indian NGOs like
Naik Foundation and corporate houses like Orissa Stevedores Limited and MGM
Minerals.
3.
Assistance for under graduate courses-
At the beginning the Trust was engaged in supporting poor meritorious
students studying in higher and higher secondary school levels as many of the
meritorious students drop out at this level due to financial constraints. The
programme is being implemented by assistance received from individual donors and
Trust’s own fund.
4.
Assistance to provide infrastructure in schools-
It is a common knowledge that many schools lack academic facilities like
teachers and non academic infrastructure like class rooms, libraries, computers
etc. With prier permission of the Govt. of Odisha, the Trust has constructed
additional class rooms at IRC Village High School, Bhubaneswar , Sadhu Charan
Vidyapitha and Jashobanta High School in Jagatsighpur District. The Trust is
presently bearing the expenses of five additional teachers of Sadhu Charan
Vidyapitha. This Programmme is being implemented with assistance from individual
donors.
5.
Collaborating and networking with other NGOs-
The Trust has close collaboration with International NGOs like Foundation
For Excellence, North South Foundation, Learning for a Better World Trust and
Sustainable Economic Development Society for their regular programmes. We have
also been providing relief and special assistance to students during natural
calamities. A special assistance of Rs 2000/- each to 30 students in the areas
