About us:

Vikash Educational Charitable Trust (VECT) is a not-for-profit and non-political public charitable Trust which is registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 in 1993. This is founded by Shri Subhas Chandra Choudhury, a former Chief Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, with the support of his wife, Mrs. Meera Choudhury and like-minded friends. The Trust is based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha of India and works for the people in the state of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh without having any bias of race, caste, creed, religion and community.

The main focus of the Trust is to support the needy and meritorious youth in their educational pursuit through the provision of educational scholarship, mentoring and career guidance. In this process, a youth is supported with a holistic manner for his or her education, moral, social and professional life. Over the three decades, the Trust has impacted the lives of more than 10,000 youth, their families and the communities bringing significant changes in the situations through its impact driven educational intervention. This holistic development work is being carried out through collaborations with institutes, individual donors, donor agencies and other partners. Apart from this, the Trust also works for the schools, young students and undertakes other programs.
