About Donations Or Sponsorships

Vikash Educational Charitable Trust (VECT) solicits donations and regular sponsorship supports from both individuals and corporate or Foundations. As VECT provides financial assistance to the meritorious and underprivileged youth to be benefited in their holistic development, this support can help to reach more and needy youth. Already more than 10,000 youth have got benefited through this educational scholarship program from different districts in Odisha. VECT pays the scholarship money directly to the selected student and monitors on the course continuity and completion. Along with this, VECT mentors the youth for his or her career and for the placement. The educational scholarship amount per student per year differs for different programs.

How Much To Donate?

Individuals, corporate and Foundations can make an one time donation for a youth or for a group of youth. The scholarship amount needed per youth per year for different academic programs are follows:


  • Medical, Engineering, Agriculture science and related studies: INR 40,000 per student year per.
  • Nursing, PG, Law and other related studies: INR 30,000 per student year per
  • Diploma, ITI, UG and other related studies: INR 20,000 per student year per

However, regular sponsorship for a student is more helpful as a student can complete his her course with continuous support. Accordingly, multi year support either through one time payment or year wise regular sponsorship for a needy youth for the entire course duration is more welcome.

Why To Donate ?

The donations or sponsorship made to VECT has the following benefits:

First of all, Odisha being one of the underdeveloped state, its youth from needy family background need educational scholarship to purse their higher education and career. There is no such support system or scholarship provision for the youth from general categories. They constitute a major chunk of population and get deprived of it. Accordingly, this support can reach those youth and help to come up in own their lives, break the poverty chain in families and uplift the community living standard ultimately.

Secondly, the youth those who get VECT educational support are motivated and encouraged to help other needy youth after getting placements. So, the Social Return on Investment (SRI) has ripple effect here.

Thirdly, the monitoring and mentoring support of VECT team is effective which helps to get the desired result. The success rate of educational progress, course completion and placement for the enrolled youth is almost 100%.

Fourthly, yearly updates and progress report of the youth will be sent to all the donors and sponsors. Even VECT can facilitate visit to meet the youth or organize a donor or sponsor meet to have a direct interaction with the sponsored youth. This is to create a bond and strong relationship with the donor apart from the financial support for the youth.

Finally, all the donations to Vikash Educational Charitable Trust are eligible for 50% tax exemption under Section 80G under Indian Income Tax Act 1961 and the donors can avail this benefit.
