Shri Subhas Chandra Choudhury
Founder & Chairman
Mr. Choudhury is an officer from Indian Revenue
Services (IRS) who retired as the Chief Commissioner of Customs and Central
Excise. During his work tenure he has handled various responsibilities being
posted in different states of India and has extensive experience in tax
administration. He is popular in Indian Revenue Service for his highest ethical
standard, professionalism, strategic interventions, hard work, peer group
influence, team capacity building and dedication for the service.
He founded Vikash Educational Charitable Trust out of his passion to develop
youth, work for the cause of the society and to contribute fruitfully even
during the post retirement period. Being the Founder and Chairman of the Trust
he provides overall leadership for the team. He mentors, guides and helps the
team for the best programmatic implementation. He takes keen interest on
developing partnerships and collaborations both nationally and internationally
while nurturing the existing ones. Mr. Choudhury provides personal attention to
the youth in their academic and career enhancement coaching them individually. A
large number of Civil Servants, Professors, Scientists, Doctors, Engineers are
the product of his sacrificial service and commitment for the youth.
Apart from the above, he also handles other multiple higher responsibilities. He
is full of enthusiasm, energy and will power to bring tremendous transformation
in the lives of the underprivileged and meritorious youth. At present, he is
also the Head of The Taxmen, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Along with this, he serves as
the Director for Sadhav Shipping Ltd., a private company working in shipping
industry. He also handles the responsibility of the Secretary for SEEDS India,
an organization working for the development activities. In addition, he is one
of the Trustee for North South Foundation, India a branch of North South
Foundation, USA which provides educational scholarship for the underprivileged
youth. In addition, he plays another crucial role as Trustee in Kalinga Hospital
Foundation, Bhubaneswar. His Hardworking nature, visionary mindset, dedicated
services and ethical standards have been a great blessing for the stakeholders
in Odisha especially for the youth and children. He loves travelling, reading
books, building relationship with others, doing yoga and meditation as well.
Mrs. Meera Choudhury
Co-Founder & Vice Chairman
Mrs. Choudhury is the Co-Founder and Vice
Chairman of the Trust. Though she has been a home-maker throughout her life but
she has been playing a crucial role being a strong instrumental in motivating
and inspiring in the foundational process of Vikash Educational Charitable
Trust. Continuously she has been supporting for the cause and objective of the
Trust through both her direct and indirect involvements. She supports through
visiting institutions as well as caring for and encouraging girl students of a
charitable nursing college. She is a loving, caring and kind-hearted person who
not only has taken care of her family very well but also others who required
help and support.
She is always engaged with some charity work and puts her time and resources for
the development of youth. She engages in literary writings and has been editor
of an Odia magazine called Arunima. She also co-edited “Utkalika”, a magazine
published by Delhi based organization called Utkalini. She is a permanent member
of Utkalini, New Delhi, which is a community of Odia women in Delhi and she had
been it’s treasurer and Vice-president for a long time.
Mr. Anurag Choudhury
Trustee
Mr. Anurag has completed MA and MBA (George
Washington University, USA & IIM Ahmedabad). He is one of the Trustee in Vikash
Educational Charitable Trust. He was the CEO Vikash Educational Charitable Trust
from November 2014 to October 2017. Also he was one of the faculty of General
Studies, International Affairs, Geopolitics and Security for the Complementary
Education Initiative (CEI) of VECT which prepares students for the Civil
Services Examinations.
He is a senior professional with a track record of superlative performance
working with top corporate, political and social leaders around the world to
advance institutional goals which includes 22 years of global leadership
experience in delivering tangible impact across roles in general management,
strategy and consulting across North America, Europe, India, Asia Pacific and
Caribbean. He was the advisor to Govt of Odisha on Crime and Criminal Tracking
Networking and Systems (CCTNS). He has been member of several high-level
committees on developmental systems, policy design & implementation, including
Chief Secretary's Apex Committee, Home Secretary's Committee, and Director
General of Police's Empowered Committee.
Mr. Choudhury Headed (Alumni Relations, Global Partnerships & International
Affairs, Academic and Corporate Collaborations, Strategic Initiatives,
Government Engagement, and Community Engagement) at the Indian Institute of
Management Ahmedabad. He handled programs and visits of Presidents and Prime
Ministers and other senior dignitaries e.g. Honourable President of Seychelles
and his team; Honourable Prime Minister of Canada, Ministers, Members of
Parliament, Ambassadors, Consul Generals, Consuls, Secret Service Officers,
Honourable External Affairs Minister of India and other dignitaries including
Consul General of the United States, France, Malaysia, etc. He was also a member
of Academic Council and member of PhD Committee of the UPL University of
Sustainable Technology.
Professor Nityanand Sahoo
Advisor
Professor Sahoo serves as an Advisor to Vikash Educational Charitable Trust.
Before retirement Professor Sahoo was a Professor in Odia language in BJB
Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar. He has long experience in teaching, conducting
examinations and education administration. He has translated and edited many
books in Odia language.
Apart from the above, Professor Sahoo has provided leading role in many social
and charitable works in Anugul, Puri, Khurda and Dhenkanal districts of Odisha.
In Cuttack, Kendrapada, Puri and Khurda districts he has contributed a lot
nurturing young talents who have interest for the Odia literature. Professor
Sahoo has been instrumental in founding many schools and colleges as well. He
has received many awards and accolades for the literature works. Apart from
being an Advisor for Vikash Educational Charitable Trust, he is also the
Founding President for the Jagganth Culture Research Foundation, President for
Banvihari Bikash Parishad, Advisor for Kendrapda District Development Foundation
and Advisor for Ashrukhola Bikash Foundation.
