Programs Undertaken
As education is the most effective tool to impact the life of an individual-through him, his family and the society at large.
Competition Program
During the initial days, the Trust has organized Spelling Bee competition in seven schools. These seven number of high schools were selected from the nearby areas for this program and a competitive environment was created among the students. Students were provided 3 prizes in each subjects for winning competitions and one teacher from each school were provided some honorarium for preparing the students for this program. Local Tahasildars, Collectors and other government dignitaries were part of these events.
School Support:
In this program, the Trust has assisted one government primary school in Nailo situated in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha through providing some of the basic educational material for the school. An additional teacher was provided to compensate the lack of teachers in the school. Books, notebooks and other supporting study material provision were made for the students.
Apart from the above, sports equipment and uniforms were provided for the school students. Regular guidance and mentoring was provided to the school staff in taking care of the children and in improving academic activities. Overall, a new change was brought in the school education system through close monitoring and follow ups as well.
School Adoption Program:
In this program, the Trust had adopted three Government schools i.e IRC Village government high school of Bhubaneswar, Jashobanta Vidyapeeth of Nailo and Sadhucharan Vidyapeet of Nanpur by signing an MoU with the Director, Secondary Education, Government of Odisha.
These schools were provided with the furniture, study materials, additional building supports, teacher training, starting of computer course and many other provisions as needed. These schools were helped with teaching staff provision and support in the management of the school as well.
Computer Education:
The Trust has conducted Information Technology (IT) courses in the adopted schools in the year 1992 with the help of APTECH computer institute. VECT provided the computers and sponsored other IT equipment, whereas APTECH took care of the faculty provisions. This computer education programs was approved by the Government of Odisha and was highly successful one.
Sponsorship For Art & Culture:
The Trust has provided financial assistance for organizing Gayaka Ratna for Pala-singing competition at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack campus. The event was to recognize and award the local talent of Odia culture.
Coaching Program:
VECT through it’s tie up with Career Launcher coaching partner has provided Bank PO examination coaching free of cost to the civil service aspirants from all fields, i.e medical, engineering, social sciences etc. who did not receive campus placements. Vikash had tie up with Binayak Institute to provide free medical entrance examination coaching to 15 selected students those were in Intermediate Science.
